Between Sea and Ice: Southern Ocean Watercolours
Along the verandah walls of the Mawson’s Huts Replica Museum, visitors are invited to journey through the Southern Ocean via a series of specially commissioned watercolours by Tasmanian artist David Hopkins.
Created for the Australian Antarctic Festival, the exhibition traces the enduring connection between Tasmania, the Southern Ocean and Antarctica. Together, these works tell a story of exploration, connection, resilience, and wonder at the gateway to the Deep South.
