The diary of John George Hunter compiled by his daughter- in-law Joan Hunter.
Hunter was Mawson’s biologist at Cape Denison. A medical student when he joined the AAE he returned, qualified as a doctor, served in the First World War and went on to become a distinguished doctor. He was responsible for shaping today’s Australian Medical Association (AMA) and also developing the first private health insurance in Australia. All copies of the book have been donated to the Foundation by the Hunter family to help with raising funds for the conservation of Mawson’s Huts.
