A retired and distinguished senior police officer, Michael Hughes is a volunteer worker in the Mawson’s Huts Replica Museum and wrote the story of Zip which is the true story of one of Mawson’s huskies. His very popular book is a best seller and tells the story of how this timid dog stood up to older, bigger and stronger dogs and eventually emerged as a leader and survivor.
