Rob has 22 years of Antarctic leadership experience with the Australian Antarctic Division as a Station Leader, remote area Field Leader and a Voyage Leader.  He has planned the Foundation’s conservation expedition program since 1997 and led the 2000-01 Team to the Historic Site.  Since retiring from the AAD in 2007, he continues to manage the Foundation’s expedition program reporting to the CEO; his duties include selection of personnel, negotiations with the AAD over logistic support, preparation of the annual works plan, risk management and environmental impact documentation. In conjunction with the AAD, he negotiates with the French Antarctic Program for shipping and helicopter support. Rob is responsible for training and pre-departure briefing, preparation of cargo and equipment for the expeditions and maintaining daily contact with the Team while they are down south.
